“IT’S UP TO YOU” is a really interesting tagline from The Ad Council to encourage everyone to be vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.

During this trying times, social distancing is imposed by the health authorities and the government. This is in order to contain and prevent the spreading of the COVID-19 virus further. It has been more than a year since the first cases were made to public and we have not yet really got back completely in doing the things that we used to do prior to the pandemic.

It’s Up To You to make an action

People all over the world seek to be safe and secured from the virus. The introduction of the vaccine is nothing but a sign for hope. Hope, that someday, somehow, our way of living will get back to how it used to.

One of the things that is being hampered this days is close contact mostly with people you do not share a home with. No hugging, no holding hands and other sort of gestures that makes you be in physical contact with another person. The tagline “Its Up To You” is an answering statement to the question if do you still want to do hugging again or any sort of physical contact.

According to the Ad Council’s president and CEO Lisa Sherman:

“We’re dealing with the biggest issues of our lifetime. We recognized pretty quickly that unless people could learn more about the vaccine and get educated, they may not take them. And then we wouldn’t be any better off next year than we are this year.”

Scepticism to the Vaccine

According to AP/NORC poll, 1 in 3 Americans do not intend to be vaccinated which has now become a growing concern. If not everyone, then we will not be totally free of the COVID-19 virus.

Charysse Nunez a supporter of the IT’S UP TO YOU campaign said during a virtual conference:

“First and foremost, we have to acknowledge the concern rather than challenge it. Where we believe the opportunity resides is with the 40 percent of the population that has a wait-and-see mind-set”.
