J.J. Watt signs with the Arizona Cardinals for 2 years
J.J. Watt signed with the Arizona Cardinals in a deal said to be worth 31 million dollars. This news comes out nearly a month ago after the defensive end parted ways with his first and only franchise up to this point – the Houston Texans.
As this situation in Texas began looking more and more unstable and without any chance for future success, the future Hall of Famer wanted out of his contract.
It was certain that he was going to be looking into places that are better set-up for the future. Some of his rumored destinations included the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburg Steelers, and Tennessee Titans.
However, despite the many different teams that were in contract with Watt, he decided to sign with the Arizona Cardinals. The contract is for 2 years, with a guaranteed 23 million according to the NFL network.

Nets win 9 out of their last 10 games
The Brooklyn Nets recorded their first win over the San Antonio Spurs in over 19 years. The team from New York won 124-113 in overtime.
James Harden was the star of the night, recording the first-ever 30/15/10 triple-double in franchise history.
Kyrie Irving also had a great game, finishing the night with 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists. The Nets have now lost only one of their last 10 matches and this is with Kevin Durant injured and out of the picture. So far, it looks like the Irving/Harden duo will prove critics wrong and turn out to be an effective and smart arrangement.
Melo shines in a Trail Blazers victory
The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Charlotte Hornets, 123 – 111. With this win, the Trail Blazers stop their losing streak, as they had lost their four previous games.
For Portland, Carmelo Anthony reminded us all why we consider him to be a Hall of Fame-caliber shooter.
The PF came off the bench for his team and scored 29 points, with 6 threes, while shooting 52% from the floor and 60% from three. On the defensive end, Melo contributed with five steals and two blocks.
Another Melo – LaMelo Ball showed again why he was picked by the Charlotte Hornets. Despite the loss, the rookie managed to score 30 points, grab 6 rebounds, and dish-out 8 assists.
Pelicans defeat the Jazz in a major win
After what seemed like an endless streak of wins, the Utah Jazz has slowed down a bit. Yesterday, the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Jazz, 129 to 124. This is the second loss in the last three matches for the team from Utah.
The young duo of Ingram and Zion delivered in the winning effort for the Pelicans. Ingram finished the night with 26 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. The future star of the league, Zion Williamson on the other hand also got 26 points, along with 10 rebounds and 5 assists.
It was an overall good night for the Ball family. Besides LaMelo who had a stellar performance against the Trail Blazers, his brother Lonzo also shined for New Orleans. Ball scored 23 points, with 7 rebounds and 8 assists in the win over the Jazz.
