LaMelo Ball shines, but the Lakers get the W over Charlotte

The Los Angeles Lakers recorded their fourth win in a row against the Charlotte Hornets. LeBron James put on a dominating performance, scoring 37 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and delivering 6 assists. Denis Schroeder has also been key for the Lakers. After his return to the line-up, LA’s record is 7-2 with him in the team and 0-4 without him. Last night, he contributed with 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists.

For the Charlotte Hornets, this loss is a second straight. Nonetheless, the contender for Rookie of the year, LaMelo Ball put on a show. The young guard was the second-best player on the floor after King Hames. He scored 25 points with 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Ball currently leads all rookies in total points, rebounds, and assists. His performance last night got him some praise from King James himself.

The Hornets, who used to be a joke of a franchise, are currently 6th in the East and are becoming a team worth watching. And a lot of the credit for that goes out to LaMelo Ball.

Damian Lillard contiunes to dominate as Trail Blazers win over the Pelicans

In another interesting game last night included the other Ball brother. The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans, 106 – 93. This game marked yet another terrifyingly good performance form Damian Lillard. The guard scored 36 points with 6 assists in the wining effort. In his last three matches, Lillard has averaged 41.3 points while shooting 59% from the field and getting at least 6 three pointers.

For the Pelicans, Zion Williamson got a double-double with 26 points and 10 assists, while Brandon Ingram finished the night with 19/4/4. However, those stable performances weren’t enough to get a W.

New Orleans have now lost 7 out of their last 10 matches and are 11th in the West. Meanwhile after losing 4 in a row, the Trail Blazers have now bounced back and currently sit on the 6th place in the rankings in the West.

Wizards return to winning as Westbrook shines

The Washington Wizards defeated the Utah Jazz, 131 to 122. This win was achieved thanks in large part to the monstrous performances from the backcourt of Bradley Beal and Russel Westbrook.

Beal finished the game with 43 points, 2 rebounds, and 6 assists. Russ, on the other hand. Got another triple-double with 35 points, 15 rebounds, and 13 assists.
This victory stops the Wizards’ streak of 5 straight losses, However, the team from the Capitol is still away from playoff contention as they currently sit in 12th place in the East.

For the Utah Jazz, the last few weeks haven’t been easy. Their record over the last 10 games has been 4-6. This prompted reactions from the media and the players, who commented on that after last night’s game.

Despite the tough stretch, Utah remains the number one seed in the West.
