Pokémon is an undying franchise that has stood the stead of time, unwavering in the hearts of its massive fanbase. Back in 2006, Generation Four of Pokémon featuring the Sinnoh region was released. Its release on the 28th of September, 2006 was truly iconic and fans loved everything about Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Ever since then, fans anticipated a remake of this game at some point and by around 2015 till now they clamoured for this fateful remake of one of the most beloved Pokémon main Version games.
Now the time has finally come, for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl were finally announced, set to release in late 2021. They are essentially two enhanced remakes of the 2006 Original games. These Role-Playing version Games of Pokémon are without a doubt the most popular, in addition to being what started this worldwide phenomenon. These two new titles are part of the Eighth generation of the official Pokémon Video Game series, developed by ILCA and published by both Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. Directors Yuichi Ueda and Junichi Masuda, as well as Composer Shota Kageyama have already been confirmed. This installment of the official Pokémon series will be released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Just like previous Version games, these will be RPGs featuring mainly Single player mode but also Multiplayer mode.
The gameplay of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will bring back every element fans loved in the 2006 games along with so much more. These will vastly be similar to the original Diamond and Pearl games, following the leads of predecessor Version Remakes such as HeartGold, SoulSilver, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The main difference will be that Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are to be presented in a top-down isometric third-person perspective, along with a distinct visual style. Simply put, the graphics angle the viewpoint to reveal features of the environment that would not be visible from a top-down perspective or side view, thus producing a three-dimensional effect. The graphical perspective will be rendered from a fixed distance behind and slightly above the players’ main character.
As for the Setting, it is as expected, set in the fictional region of Sinnoh within the Pokemon Universe. This region is based on the real world Japanese island of Hokkaidō. The mascots for the two games are the same as the 2006 versions, Brilliant Diamond features the legendary Pokémon of Time Dialga and Shining Pearl features the legendary Pokémon if Space Palkia, but this time in 3D graphics.
Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are being developed mainly by ILCA with Game Freak providing oversight, making these the first main-series Pokémon games which Game Freak aren’t leading. However fans can rest assured as Junichi Masuda from Game Freak is directing the project, the director of the original beloved titles. These much anticipated games were officially announced as part of the Pokémon 25th Anniversary celebratory event, alongside Pokémon Legends: Arceus, another upcoming Action RPG under the Pokémon franchise.
So now, fans both veteran and new can early await these highly anticipated remakes of beloved Pokemon main version game classics this 2021. Prepare to embark on yet another unforgettable adventure alongside all the mystical Pokémon!
