Tesla founder and billionaire Elon Musk was hosting Saturday Night Live on their May 8th show. His musical guest was the wonderful Miley Cyrus.
Mother’s Day Message Cold Open
Miley made the introduction with her recognizable voice. Then, the parade of moms begins. The footage with the mothers was something special, a bit amateurish but again enough to make us all laugh. What is the most important thing is that this show is, for the first time, streamed internationally.
Elon’s Monologue
In his monologue, he said he was the show’s first host with the autism spectrum disorder Asperger syndrome. Or, he quipped, “at least, the first person to admit it.” His mom appeared on stage and made the audience laugh with a joint sketch.
Gen Z Hospital
The fake soap opera refers to Gen Z who are in the hospital waiting for news of their “bestie”. It is enriched by rolling eyes, many “bro” and “bestie” words and phrases, as well as slang which is very popular in this generation.
Post-Quarantine Conversation
We all know how embarrassing it is when we start a conversation with someone we haven’t seen before quarantine, right? “Is this a conversation?” This mostly captures the banality of these conversations. “Do I have brain damage?” questions, Bennett. He is perfect for a premise like this.
Ooli Show
Ooli Show is Icelandic television, with Mikey Day channeling “Sprockets.” McKinnon appears as the first guest, Frances McDormand, and Pete Davidson pop up as Steve Buscemi. This sketch won divisions of opinion, some laughed a lot, while others found it strange.
Weekend Update
Topics included here are reopening Broadway, Larry Bird, Biden’s viral photo with the Carters, and Florida’s new restrictive voting law. Nwodim plays Pauline, a weary mother who has returned from Disney. This sketch will make your stomach ache with laughter. Of course, we must not forget Baby Yoda who also found himself in the Weekend Update.
Chad on Mars
Our hero is Chad. Elon Musk is asking him to make the ultimate sacrifice. Miley Cyrus declares her love to him, and tells him that she is pregnant and that Chad will become a father. “No thank you” – made all laugh.
Miley Cyrus – “Without you” and “Plastic Hearts”
In the sea of all the mixed sketches, we must not omit our Miley. She first sang the song “Without You” together with Kid Laroi. This was very pleasing to the ears and it was wonderful to listen to. Her second performance was the song “Plastic Hearts”. Her impeccable energy destroyed everything around her like a hurricane!
Cowboy Standoff
The sketch begins with Kyle Mooney having been shot in a salon. Elon Musk represents that some ingenious cowboy who loves electronic horses and also jokes about the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic. Interesting sketch, what do you think?
