Angelina Jolie discussed her current position in ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead,’. She admits that she understands her character’s “broken” and “messed up” feelings.
Angelina Jolie is back in action in ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead,’ her latest thriller. The beautiful 45-year-old even told Australia’s Weekend Sunrise on May 15 that the role she portrays in the movie is closer to her than any of her other roles.
She meant, “What was strange is, I am American, but I noticed how seldom I play American,” the Eternals actor clarified to an Australian breakfast show. As a result, performing this very ordinary American woman feels more difficult than even an insane Maleficent.”
She hopes viewers can connect to her most, can relate to feeling fractured, messed up, incomplete. “She’s maybe closer to me than some of the other characters.”
The story tracks a 14-year-old boy, Finn Little, who experiences his father’s murder. And then goes on the run with Angelina Jolie’s character Hannah, a PTSD-stricken wildfire firefighter in Montana. They’re attempting to flee from a pair of assassins.
Three years after her divorce from Brad Pitt, 57, she filmed the film in New Mexico in the summer of 2019.
Despite their bitter custody dispute, Brad was seen hosting Angelina Jolie-Pitt and their children — Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 19, Pax Jolie-Pitt, 17, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 16, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 14, and 12-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne — at the time.
Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt’s Divorce Is Still Unsettled
Unfortunately, the couple’s divorce is already pending, and Angelina said in court papers released on March 12 that she has “proof and authority” to back up her domestic abuse claims against Brad.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt had been dating for more than a decade and had been together for just over two years before they divorced. The breakup became acrimonious almost immediately, particularly when it came to determining custody of their six children, all of whom were minors at the time.
Brad was Also Arrested For Alleged Child Abuse
Following the divorce, Brad was arrested for child neglect in connection with an altercation concerning the couple’s then-15-year-old boy, Maddox. The specifics of the suspected incident, which occurred on a private jet, are not yet official. In November 2016, both the Department of Child and Family Services and the FBI cleared Brad of any charges.
Even after clearance, Brad was only able to see his children if a court-appointed counselor authorized it. Then, in June 2018, a judge directed Angelina to ensure that the kids spent more time with their parents. So the court gave Brad more custody.
The lawsuit was set to go to trial in November 2018. But Brad and Angelina were willing to reach an out-of-court settlement to prevent a trial. Brad’s custody is still less than 50%, but he has spent some time with the kids again.
The loving mother enjoys spending quality time with her children while shopping in Los Angeles. In a recent interview, she clarified why she thinks it’s “important” to spend more time with them. Especially now that she and Brad are no longer together.
She has not been willing to lead in the last few years. She said about it on ITV’s Lorraine about her new thriller, Those Who Wish Me Dead, “I’ve been home much more — I’ve done a few films, but mostly home.”
“But very important years to be home (During Pandemic Time). For a certain time in my family, I’ve needed to be home.”
