Spotify has released a new personalized feature called “Only You”. This new feature generates personalized playlists and gives you compliments for your “unique” music choices.
‘Only You’ is similar in style to Spotify’s hugely popular ‘Wrapped’ feature. They are similar in that they use data extracted from content listening settings. However, what differs is that “Only You” contains six separate lists, each of which is designed to be unique.
This helps you find the “unique audio paring” of songs you play backward, play over and over again, songs you listen to at certain times of the year, and the very history of the music you listen to and love.
New “Audio Birth Chart” with Spotify Premium
What is very interesting about this feature is the “Audio Birth Chart”. When you sign up for your Spotify, the app will give you a kind of horoscope that contains a chart of where your Sun and Moon positions are located.
“Your Sun sign details the artist you listened to most over the last six months,” Spotify said, adding: “Your Moon sign demonstrates an artist you listen to that best shows your emotional or vulnerable side. Your Rising sign brings it all together with an artist you’ve recently connected with.” Interesting, right?
This feature is of such a format that can be shared and that would become a total hit on social networks. Also, Spotify provides another way to signal that its algorithms promote diverse listening, rather than homogenize popular music moments!
Along with that, “Only You” offers lists based on which music year you like the most, which two different artists you listened to one after the other. The ‘Dream Dinner Party’ feature that designs a playlist based on the three artists we love the most and listen to the most and a list based on the weird music you listened to at certain times of the day.
There is another separate feature that Spotify has launched and that is “Blend” which allows two friends to combine their music at one playlist and listen together. Truly innovative and different. God job Spotify!
